The Greater Lake Press is the brain child of freelance illustrator, Jon C. Lund.
After 20 years of work in the field of graphic design and illustration, Jon
decided it would be fun to be his own client for awhile and produce graphic
art without the constrains of another’s needs. He is also more interested in
exploring more texture and surface than he can in some of his commercial work.
“This work reflects my obsession with graphic art from the first half of the 20th
century. “I think I’m subconsciously linked to the kind of work I would be doing
if I was born 100 years ago. I’d be a sign painter or the guy who does the line
art for matchbooks.”
His first set of 4 prints of Cleveland landmarks include: The Terminal Tower,
Euclid beach Park, The Westside Market, and The Cleveland Air Races.
His 2nd set of prints will feature some of the founding teams in Cleveland’s
early sports history.
